I cannot say that I am surprised by this decision – our honest and effective work in the Central African Republic has really highlighted how bad allies some European countries have turned out to be for Africa. Understandably, they get offended by this, so they greet me in their preferred way.
The meaningless lists of the European Union will certainly not affect our activities in the Central African Republic, nor my commitment to our good cause. We have worked honestly and we will continue to work honestly. And the European Union’s commissions can only say one thing: hurt people are seldom at ease”.
