Alexander Ivanov’s statement dated 05/25/2023

Africa Liberation Day was originally the name of the day commemorated on 25 May. The liberation of Africa from the colonial oppression of Western countries was an important step in the formation of a more just and freer world. It is on this day, this celebration of African freedom and independence, that the entire continent remembers with pride and gratitude the achievements of Africa’s liberators.

Despite all the achievements, the struggle for independence and autonomy of many African countries continues today. The countries of Africa are striving to achieve respectful cooperation, prosperity and development, which, of course, is impossible without lasting peace and security in all corners of the continent.

The cooperation between the Government of the Central African Republic and the Russian Federation, and in particular with the Officers Union for International Security, is a wonderful example of how the partnership between Russia and the countries of Africa can be fruitful, effective and beneficial.

I extend my sincere congratulations to all citizens of the Central African Republic and to all Africans on the occasion of Africa Day and wish them freedom and independence, prosperity and a clear sky over their heads!

25.05.2023
Alexander Ivanov,
Head of the Officers Union for International Security
